About Alcove

Is Alcove open?

Not yet. Alcove is a proposed Congregate Living Health Facility preparing for licensure by the California Department of Public Health. We are not accepting residents at this time.

Where is Alcove located?

Alcove is planned for Elk Grove, California. We will publish the facility address once it is confirmed.

When will Alcove open?

We do not have a confirmed opening date. Opening depends on state licensing and operational readiness. Contact us to be notified of updates.

CLHF care

What is a CLHF?

A Congregate Living Health Facility is a small, licensed residential setting that provides 24-hour skilled nursing and supportive care. Learn more about CLHF care.

Does every CLHF offer the same services?

No. Each CLHF is licensed for specific service categories, and its services also depend on staffing, equipment and clinical capabilities.

Is Alcove a nursing home or a hospital?

Neither. A CLHF is its own type of licensed facility. California law describes its care as generally less intensive than an acute hospital and more intensive than a skilled nursing facility.

Does Alcove provide addiction treatment or outpatient therapy?

No. Alcove is planned as a residential CLHF and does not plan to offer addiction treatment or outpatient physical therapy services.

Admissions and coverage

How does admission work?

Admission follows an inquiry, a discussion of needs, a clinical suitability review, and verification of coverage and availability. See the admissions process.

Is admission guaranteed?

No. Admission depends on licensure, clinical suitability, availability and confirmed coverage.

Which insurance do you accept?

Accepted payment sources have not been confirmed. We will update this page once they are, and coverage is always verified individually.

Can I send medical records through the website?

Please do not. Website forms are for general questions only. We will arrange a secure method to share clinical information when appropriate.

Families and visiting

Will families be kept informed?

Yes. Clear, regular communication with families and authorized representatives is a core part of our planned approach to care.

What are visiting hours?

Visiting policies will be shared before opening and will follow applicable state and public health guidance.
